Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Pittsburgh, PA

The recent launch of my new website coincided just last week with the annual Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Pittsburgh, PA with an appearance and speech by President Obama.  The Veterans Administration is celebrating its 85th Anniversary.

Eric Shinseki resigned last year as the United States Secretary of Veteran Affairs now headed by Robert A. McDonald.  This change was due to evidence of alleged schemes to cover up appointment delays by hiding patients on secret wait lists.  Senators Bernie Sanders and John McCain  worked  together on legislation that would provide greater access to health care for our nations veterans.  The emergency funding bill allows for new medical facilities and designates funds for hiring more VA doctors and nurses and eliminating wait times.

Currently, there are over nine million veterans seeking healthcare services at the VA’s over 1700 sites.  The issue is not the care and service provided but getting to see a doctor without delays. For all of our veterans, thank you for your service.
