Still Army Strong

Here is some recent Army news:

The oldest known US veteran Emma Didlake dies at age 110.  She was in the Woman’s Army Auxillary Corps.  Born in Alabama, she lived in Detroit, Michigan and had just last month visited the White House.

Tragic story out of the Chicago Air and Water Show.  US Army Skydiver Sgt. 1st Class Corey Hood, age 32 of Cincinnati, Ohio, died after a collision with another jumper.  He had served five tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Western Wildfires continue to rage.  When you need something done right and infernos are out of control, who do you call for help?  Army soldiers of course.  Over 200 active duty military personnel have been called in to help battle western state blazes.  The military is also providing C-130s equipped to drop large quantities of fire retardant.
