The 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games have begun. Back in the United States for the first time in sixteen years, the opening ceremony was held on July 25, 2015 in the host city of Los Angeles, California. Michelle Obama officially opened the Games. The closing ceremony will be August 2, 2015. The Games will be a celebration of the talent, perseverance and achievements of those with intellectual disabilities.
The motto of the Special Olympics is, “Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt”. Good luck to all participating athletes who have already overcome so much.
